There are two types of trucks on a surfskate.
The spring-loaded axle makes the skate closely simulate the movements and sensations of surfing. It has a very smooth pumping action, and the turning angle can be very tight.
The axle without a spring is more traditional, as the pumping is closer to that of a regular skateboard. However, with the bushings it has, you will still experience a surfing sensation when pumping. This axle also allows you to pump the skateboard without having to kick the ground to move forward.
