What is a bodyboard?
A bodyboard is a smaller board derived from surfing, typically reaching navel height. It is used with bodyboard swim fins mainly to perform maneuvers both on the wave and in the air.
What bodyboard should I buy?
You should choose a bodyboard that suits your weight, height, skill level, and the type of water you surf. If you surf in cold water, we recommend a PE bodyboard or NRG bodyboard. If you're in more temperate or warmer places, a PP bodyboard would be a better choice.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact us, and we'll help you make the right decision.
What size bodyboard should I choose?
The size of your bodyboard depends mainly on your weight, height, and skill level.
In general, the bodyboard should reach your navel height.
If you're a beginner, it's recommended to go 1-2 fingers above that height, and if you already have good skills, you can choose a board that is 1 finger below.
It also depends on your comfort level with the waves you surf. For example, in smaller waves, you might prefer a slightly larger board.
What are bodyboards made of?
Bodyboards are made of three main materials: Polypropylene (PP), Polyethylene (PE), and Polystyrene (EPS).
PP bodyboards are stiffer and faster, but they require a higher skill level to control. They are also more expensive due to their increased durability.
The EPS material is mostly used for beginner bodyboards.
