The Channel Island NeckBeard 3 is an evolution of an already legendary model, refined thanks to the collaboration between Britt Merrick and Dane Reynolds. While the original NeckBeard was already an epic board, they felt that a few subtle adjustments could make it even better, and the results were clear, as seen in Dane's new film "The Electric Acid Surfboard Test."

One of the main changes was the removal of the Vee in the bottom, at Dane’s request, leaving it with a single concave throughout the board. This improved wave entry speed, control in fast sections, and overall maneuverability. Additionally, they widened the tail area by 1/2 inch and added a slight hip to increase responsiveness and agility in turns.

In the 3.0 version, they only adjusted the tail, rounding out its signature square block. This change makes the board, already ideal for fast, aerial turns, even more versatile by offering smoother transitions in the pocket and buttery turns on the wave face. It also improves hold and confidence in the barrel.

The NeckBeard 3 is mainly set up as a tri-fin, but it can also be used as a quad with its five-fin system, providing versatility and options for different surf conditions.

EPS Epoxy Spine-Tek Construction:

The Spine-Tek construction is the result of the collaboration with Shapers Australia. SPINE-TEK is a precision engineered stringer spine utilizing a unique composition of fiberglass and resin. SPINE-TEK is based on the principles of elastic energy, to flex under pressure and then return the surfboard back to its natural rocker, providing surfboards with a more lively and responsive feel.

Performance through innovation, SPINE-TEK® is a world’s first with its unique fiber-based composition, delivers optimal flex based performance through the principles of elastic & kinetic energy. Through this process the surfboard loads up on energy and then releases, generating additional drive, speed, power & flow.

Weighing a mere ¼ of a pound and installed in the surfboard deck, SPINE-TEK replaces the traditional heavier timber stringers and is virtually break free.
