The Slater Designs SCI-FI 2.0 surfboard is now available in the Ibolic Volcanic version.
The Firewire Slater Sci-Fi 2.0 features a forward-shifted wide point from the center, allowing it to be surfed 1" shorter than its predecessor, with more volume in a shorter board. It also has a stretched tail and rocker (similar to the Cymatic), providing greater versatility while maintaining good agility in small waves.
Available in tri-quad with Futures Fins system, and 13 sizes ranging from 5'5'' to 6'6''.
Volcanic Epoxy Construction:
The Volcanic construction uses extruded basalt fibers from crushed and melted volcanic rocks. These fibers have characteristics similar to carbon in terms of strength and weight but are more environmentally friendly as they are organically sourced. Basalt fiber is resistant to chemicals and is used in the manufacturing of surfboards, as well as in the aerospace industry for rockets and jet engines. It has higher resistance to high temperatures and greater elasticity than traditional carbon fiber.
