Earplugs designed for water are the only ones that will insulate your ears from water. At Mundo-Surf, we only sell water earplugs, specifically designed for surfing. You will find two types of surf earplugs: those that insulate the ear from the water, but also block the sound, and those that do not let water through but allow sound to pass. The latter, although they are more expensive, are much more comfortable for surfing.
