Surfboard Lost Mick´s Tape Symm

The Mick's Tape-SYM is a fully symmetrical version of the famous board that won the #ElectricAcidSurfboardTest in 2022, as chosen by legendary surfer Mick Fanning. This model is ideal for those who have doubts about asymmetrical boards but still want to enjoy the exceptional performance of the original #MicksTape.

The main reason the original version was designed asymmetrically was due to the specific conditions of the test, conducted in powerful reef waves in the Maldives. The goal was to design a board under 5’3” that could adapt to those waves, and it was found that reducing the surface area on the heel edge improved maneuverability. However, for everyday surfing in softer conditions and not in reef waves, the MicksTape-SYM presents a simple solution: a “Gull” tail design that, while similar to the typical swallow tail, features a reverse inner curve that provides a smooth flow and resembles the original #MicksTape.

This board is designed to be effective at much shorter lengths than standard shortboards. Choose a length that aligns with the width and volume you feel comfortable with, and push yourself to explore new sections of the wave.

Construction:

Pukas surfboards are made in the Olatu factory, in the Basque country. Olatu owns the brand Pukas and builds for two big ones: Lost and Al Merrick. Polyurethane foam core, Silmar polyester resin and Hexcel fiberglass. Great finishing and exceptional expertise.
