The Channel Island Tri Plane Hull Single is the evolution of the collaboration with Devon Howard following the success of the "CI Mid". This single-fin mid-length is a true gem in its category, providing a much more agile and fun surfing experience than many other models of its kind, which are often slow, heavy, or difficult to turn. With the Tri Plane Hull Single, it feels like riding on a ball bearing, delivering exceptional freedom, speed, and control.
The board's outline is inspired by Al Merrick's 1970s "egg" models. It features a Tri Plane Hull bottom, known for its ease of rail-to-rail surfing and its ability to generate speed while riding the wave line. This design, initially based on George Greenough's concepts and fine-tuned by Al Merrick to be more accessible, is engineered to offer more speed, control, and projection in turns.
The Tri Plane Hull Single maintains a functional aesthetic with understated color laminations and a minimalist logo.
PU Construction:
Channel Island surfboards are made by Al Merrick in the Olatu factory, in the Basque country. Olatu owns the brand Pukas and builds for two big ones: Lost and Al Merrick. Polyurethane foam core, Silmar polyester resin and Hexcel fiberglass. Great finishing and exceptional expertise.
