The Channel Island CI 2.Pro is the winning surfboard of the Stab in the Dark 2023 with Italo Ferreira.

The CI 2.Pro is the evolution of the surfboard that dominated the Stab in the Dark 2022 with Jack Robinson, but this time designed to better suit Italo Ferreira's surfing style and the waves anticipated for 2023. It retains the same outline and bottom contours as the original model, but with a reduced rocker to increase speed and better adapt to different types of surfers and waves.

When Channel Island launched the CI Pro, both rocker versions had already been tested and proven to work well in a wide variety of conditions. Over time, they discovered that much of the Channel Island team prefers the CI Pro curve, while others prefer the 2.Pro curve. The decision to use the 2.Pro for SITD 2023 was based on the assumption that the competitor would be Italo Ferreira, and Britt Merrick took into account his surfing style and the variety of waves he might encounter in Brazil.

With 1/4 inch less rocker compared to the CI Pro, the 2.Pro maintains the same subtle concave and smooth transitions into a double concave under the fins, allowing the board to stay connected through transitions in the water. Combined with the reduced rocker, this provides more speed and makes the board easier to surf for a wider range of surfers in various conditions.

For those who were already fans of the CI Pro, the 2.Pro enhances their quiver, being ideal for less favorable wave conditions. For those who found the CI Pro intimidating, the 2.Pro opens up new possibilities, offering maximum performance with a more accessible touch.
