The FCSII Matt Biolos PCC fins are high-performance fins designed for powerful surfing. Developed in collaboration with the elite surfers of Lost and based on the fins from the Carver family, they are ideal for surfers looking for power, control, and agility in fast, powerful waves.
They feature a wide base, a curved trailing edge, and a tapered tip, making them primarily suited for high-performance surfing. The bottom half of the fin generates exceptional power and drive, allowing surfers to push hard through turns while maintaining a sense of stability even in the most critical situations. The tip, which tapers significantly halfway up the fin, provides the agility and freedom to make quick turns with confidence.
In contrast to Matt Biolos’ original vertical design, based on the Reactor family fins, which were intended for tighter turns in beach breaks, this new design offers a balanced mix of drive, power, and release, making them perfect for open-face waves and maneuvers. These fins work particularly well with higher rocker boards, allowing surfers to maintain full control at high speeds and through critical sections of the wave.
The rear quad template shares a similar aesthetic with the side fins and has been designed to work smoothly and efficiently with them. In quad configuration, this set provides a feeling of stability and smoothness in turns, while maintaining solid control. The quad set is especially suited to performance and hybrid boards.
Performance Core Carbon (PCC) Construction:
The PC Core Carbon or PCC fins are highly responsive and feature strategically placed carbon to complement the fin template. This construction is ideal for surfers who practice fast surfing and seek to perform explosive turns in critical parts of the wave.
